Compensation: Hourly – $145/hr, 24-Hour Call – $950 per 24 hours, Night Call – $315/shift, Call Back – $210/hr.
Coverage Dates
• December 14–18: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• December 18–21: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
• December 28–30: Three 12-hour shifts
Schedule
• Standard daytime coverage: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Weeknight call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend call: Friday 5:00 PM–Monday 7:00 AM
• Weekend rounding: Saturday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
• 30-minute lunch break required
• Overtime must be approved
Clinical Responsibilities
• Surgical First Assist in the Operating Room
• Surgical floor coverage
• Inpatient rounding
• Progress notes
• Manage patient orders
• Discharges
• Consults
• Primarily work with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients
• Robotics experience required
Surgical First Assist Duties
• Cauterize wounds and vessels
• Pack surgical sponges
• Position patients for surgical access and circulation
• Place clamps and sutures
• Close skin with sutures, staples, or adhesives
• Apply direct pressure for hemostasis
• Assist with suction, drainage, and irrigation
• Control bleeding and maintain hemostasis
• Immobilize and position patients on the operating table
Patient Population
• Adults
• Acutely ill patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:10–15
Support Staff
• Physician/provider support
• Anesthesia present during procedures
• NP support
• LPN support
Requirements
• Board Certified – Required
• Active New York license in hand – Required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience – Required
• Robotics experience – Required
• Epic experience – Required
• AHA or RQI BLS – Required
• AHA or RQI ACLS – Required
• ATLS – Required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
